2018 EUROPEAN FIELD TARGET CHAMPIONSHIP IN ITALY

Harriers Field Target Shooter Wins The 2018 European Field Target Championships in Italy

The 5th European Field Target Championship 2018 was held in Beccelli, Fara in Sabina, Italy between the 19th and 22nd July. This year was the first year that English shooter attended the competition. Three out of the four shooter where from the Midlands, the other was from the Newcastle area. Two of the four shooters where from our very our Harriers Field Target Club, Andras Fekete-Moro and Ian Phillips, Darron Hillier and John Castello made up the rest of the unofficial England Team. The location for the comp was outstanding with beautiful picturesque scenery and friendly locals that made you feel very welcome. The courses where set to a good standard to challenge the best shooter in Europe, however the temperature was unbearable reaching the high 30’s for all three days of the comp. This created a lot of problems for John, Ian and Darron who turned up just the day before the comp and had little time to adjust to the heat and re-zero the scope and guns for such high temperature. However that did not hinder Andras who had been there for a few more days than the rest of the team. This proved to be the right decision as Andras had no issues with his rig and put in three great scores (47,49,45) to come away as the overall winner by 5 clear shots, very well done Andras. John was placed a respectable 42nd, Ian placed 58th and Darron came in at 60th out of a field of 125 shooters.
